Liane Hetherington-Ward
Liane is an experienced project manager and environmental engineer who has been providing environmental recruiting services since 2001. Liane received a B.S. in Engineering and Policy and A.B. in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis in 1982, and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University in 1986. She joined ICF Inc. in 1984, managing a wide variety of projects and staff as the company evolved into ICF Kaiser Engineers. In 1989 she opened ICF's technical environmental practice in Chicago, where she was responsible for hiring, staff management, project management, and business development activities.
In 1992 Liane left ICF for USPCI, Inc., where she was responsible for permitting and strategic planning for all USPCI facilities located east of the Rockies, plus a few in Utah. Liane joined Safety-Kleen Corp. in 1994 as a Regulatory Program Manager. In that role, she provided regulatory compliance assistance to internal and external customers, training programs, and worked with companies and trade associations to influence significant new regulatory developments. Liane managed numerous project teams addressing issues ranging from corporate compliance initiatives to business development.
Liane opened LHWard, Inc. in 1999, a woman-owned small business providing environmental consulting services. Since 2001, LHWard, Inc. has provided recruiting services to the environmental industry. Liane's recruiting approach is based on dedicated research and personalized service, taking the time to listen to both client and candidate to fully understand what each needs and what each has to offer. After so many years as an environmental manager, Liane knows intrinsically just how critical it is to find the right match between employer and employee.
